Small groups exist for the benefits of its members, in a large church forming relationships and friendships is not always easy. Small groups allow us to share experiences, hopes and frustrations in a friendly environment. The Bible encourages us to be always looking to grow spiritually Ė to be mature and firm in out faith. At Christ Church we see small groups as vital in fulfilling our mission and vision, small groups are key to reaching out into the community and in strengthening our own faith. As small group members we have opportunities to:

  • Have fellowship and fun
  • Have help to grow spiritually by studying the Bible and praying together
  • Make new friends
  • Belong, to be informed and involved in the work of the church in Wharton
  • Encourage one another by sharing experiences and realise that we are not the only ones that make a mess of things

We would also expect small group members to

  • Attend regularly
  • Inform the group leader/host if they canít attend a meeting for any reason
  • Be, if required, prepared for the next meeting
  • Respect confidentiality
  • Enjoy being members of the group

Small group leaders are pastorally responsible for the group members and will always be the first port of call. The leader will at his/her discretion decide whether additional help or advice be needed. This will be sought from the church leadership. Home groups meet at various times and places during the week
