Mission

As a part of our response to God’s call to “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel” Christ Church, Wharton supports a number of individuals and missionary groups both domestically and internationally. These are currently as follows:

Christians Against Poverty

Christians Against Poverty (CAP) is a national debt counselling charity with a network of over 300 centres based in local churches. CAP offers hope and a solution to anyone in debt through its unique in-depth service which is completely free. We now have a local Centre in Winsford attached to Christ Church with a CAP Centre Manager (Paul Christian).

If you are struggling to manage your debts, please phone free: 0800 328 0006 to book an appointment.

In addition to the above, we also offer CAP Money which is a money management course designed to help people with budgeting skills and uses a comprehensive yet simple cash-based money management system in order to help you get and then stay in control of your finances.

CAP have a list of weekly prayer points and send quarterly prayer letters to members of the national prayer team

AICMAR

The African Institute of Contemporary Mission and Research (AICMAR) is an evangelical and inter-denominational institute committed to promoting biblical preaching and advancing African evangelical scholarship.

Crosslinks

Crosslinks is an international mission society with its roots in the Bible, working largely within the worldwide Anglican Communion.

Our business is making Christ known through the teaching of God’s word in the power of the Holy Spirit. We do this by organising gospel partnerships across cultural boundaries.

God’s word is the authority for all our work, therefore we are creative in mission and continually developing fresh ways of taking God’s word to God’s world.

Crosslinks have a list of current prayer items and a prayer diary.

The Gideons

The Gideons objective is to share Godís message of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ by personal witness and through placing Bibles and New Testaments into peopleís hands.

We are a non-denominational extended missionary arm of the Christian church. We work closely with Christian churches, for it is through them that we draw our membership and our prayer and financial support.

The North West Partnership

The North West Partnership (NWP) is a group of ordinary, local churches passionate about the extraordinary message of Jesus Christ, and committed to supporting, encouraging and equipping each other in the task of getting that life changing message out across our region.

We are from various denominations and none, but we are convinced that as we help each other in training leaders, encouraging ministers, planting churches, inspiring Sunday School teachers and youth workers, and helping Christians to keep the teaching of God’s Word at the centre of church life, that God will grow his church.

The NWP publishes a quarterly prayer diary which is available in the Support Us section of their website.

Open Doors

Open Doors exists to strengthen the church to be the church in the most hostile places.

In around 45 countries, Open Doors is supplying Bibles, training church leaders, delivering Scripture-based literacy programmes and supporting Christians who suffer for their faith. In the UK and Ireland Open Doors strives to raise awareness of global persecution, mobilising prayer, support and action among Christians.

A signup form is available for Open Doors weekly prayer alerts email and the monthly Open Doors magazine and prayer diary

Sat-7

For nearly 15 years SAT-7 has been working to illuminate countries in the Middle East and North Africa with Godís love.

The Vision: To see a growing Church in the Middle East and North Africa, confident in Christian faith and witness, serving the community and contributing to the good of society and culture.

The Mission: To provide the churches and Christians of the Middle East and North Africa an opportunity to witness to Jesus Christ through inspirational, informative, and educational television services.

Sat-7 has a daily list of prayer items and a monthly prayer calender.

UCCF

The Universities and Colleges Christian Fellowship (UCCF) is a family of students, staff, and supporters. Christian Unions are mission teams operating in universities and colleges, supported by the local church, and resourced by UCCF staff. This family exists to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ in the student world.

Christ Church supports Adam Jones who is one of UCCF’s Team Leaders. Ruth is responsible for supporting and co-ordinating the team of Christian Union Staff Workers in the North West region

Please pray for Adam and the work of UCCF

UFM

UFM works in partnership with 50 UK churches in sending missionaries into cross-cultural ministry. God calls missionaries and churches send them out. We work in partnership with churches to make this possible and to provide the expertise needed to work effectively in cross-cultural mission. We also work with partner missions and churches around the world. Our great concern is not to preach ourselves but to proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord.

Christ Church supports Lynne and Bete who work on the flowers estate in Belém, Brazil supporting families who live around the rubbish tip. These families attempt to make a living by sorting through the waste to find items they can eat or sell.

Please pray for the work of UFM by using their prayer calendar
